What an honor it was for Leslie Ryland’s firm, Schaffer Family Law Group, to recently be featured on the cover of the San Diego Discover Magazine.

In the article, the firm’s founder Sarah Schaffer spoke in detail about California family law’s myriad aspects and issues.

She discussed creating her firm in 2011 and earning her State Bar certification as a Family Law Specialist. Becoming a Certified Family Law Specialist requires many years of family law experience as well as ongoing educational requirements and peer reviews.

Currently, Schaffer Family Law Group has four attorneys, and one of them is Leslie Ryland, a member and current President of the Collaborative Practice San Diego. Leslie is also a Certified Family Law Specialist and is recognized in the local family law community for her calm demeanor and extensive litigation, mediation, and collaborative expertise.

Leslie has represented many clients in all aspects of family law both during a divorce or legal separation and post-Judgment. While Leslie enjoys the challenges presented by litigating a complex financial estate or volatile custody matters, she believes the better approach is to help clients through mediation or work with a team through the collaborative divorce process.

Currently, Leslie is serving as the President of the Collaborative Practice of San Diego. Leslie enjoys the journey she can take with her clients, from closing one chapter in their life peacefully to opening up a whole new one. By working together with her clients, Leslie helps them navigate a very emotional, challenging time in their lives.

The Collaborative Practice of San Diego is a nonprofit, multi-disciplinary referral network of independent professionals of attorneys, mental health professionals and financial advisors working together to learn, practice, and promote Collaborative processes for problem-solving and the peaceful resolution of family law issues in regard to co-parenting, with an eye toward preserving the emotional, as well as the financial and business assets of the family.
